Học Mãi, the Australia Vietnam Medical Foundation, is a non-profit organisation which was established in 1998 to improve medical education in Vietnam. The organisation became a Foundation of the University of Sydney in 2001. The projects and programs within the Foundation continue to bring together the collective medical/healthcare knowledge and experience from Australia and Vietnam in an educational partnership.
Donations over $2 are tax-deductible and will be gratefully acknowledged.

Contribute to Hoc Mai programs:
Hoc Mai Student Mobility
Support providing opportunities for Vietnamese students to have a firsthand experience of the Australian healthcare system and learn along with Australian health practitioners through immersive learning. Students are given opportunities to observe in clinical settings. This program also supports Australian students’ immersion in Vietnamese healthcare system during their elective term. The student mobility program is conducted with institutional partners of the University of Sydney and Hoc Mai Foundation.
Hoc Mai Priority Projects
Support the priority projects of Hoc Mai Foundation including research, education and capacity building in Vietnam.
Hoc Mai Advanced Medical & Research Education Project
Participants [young doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers] are carefully selected by Professors Hinh and Duong and considered to be potential future healthcare leaders in Vietnam. They are then interviewed in Hanoi by Sydney medical School academics. They are selected on the basis of their CV, publications, referee reports, commitment and ability to speak and comprehend English. Visits to Hanoi by Australian academic clinicians occur during the year in Hanoi. Then about 20 are brought to Sydney for a 4 week midyear Immersion Course. A donation of just $3,000 will provide a scholarship for one future healthcare leader. $15,000 will provide five scholarships. Any donation will help.
